Welcome to my blog!  I had intended to design one before we left last Fall for the Bahamas but found it was one of the last priorities on my list given the fact that we decided spontaneously to leave for our first cruise before our house was sold and thus had only three weeks to provision, finish final projects aboard s/v Alchemy, and run all the errands which included tasks like get our tetanus boosters, and the cats first aid kit together.  It was a bit of a whirlwind but completely worth all the fun that we had on our adventure!

I am intending to recap our cruise since I did not write like I had planned to while we were gone.  As well, I have been wanting to adopt a writing practice for many years now and with the inspiration of an online writing workshop I am taking, I have finally designed my own little place here on the web where I can share my chronicles and some pictures.

I am going to warm up by sharing some pictures I took with the little point and shoot I have…it doesn’t lend for much depth of field but it is more likely to be in my pocket wherever I may be so it is good for documenting…

Last night’s dinner was a little taste of home.  To this Marylander summer is punctuated and celebrated by eating blue crabs…I chose to go the less messy route and saute up some soft shells and boil up some shrimp…so good!  We bought our seafood from the Garland Fulcher Seafood Market and wow! was it ever fresh!  They only had the bigger shrimp when we made our purchase late Saturday afternoon and I am so glad – they were delicious! http://www.towndock.net/fulchersseafoodmarket.html

Dredging the crabs prior to sauteeing…

Dredge the softshells in flour then egg then panko crumbs prior to sauteing in oil for 5-7 minutes…

Corn and Shrimp a ‘boil’in and crabs sauteing…

Chopping the veggies for salad…This carrot is the biggest carrot I have ever seen. This was only a 1/4 of it, and it was the most delicious I have ever eaten…the center is a translucent orange and so sweet!

One Responseso far.
