• This Weekend’s Work and Fun…

Well, the last coat of hull paint went on this past Friday – Thank God!  The yard was nice enough to let us borrow their compressor which allowed us using a new spray gun we bought to atomize the paint to a finer spray and that was just the trick.  Chris was especially relieved that he had sanded down the hull for the last time.  I think he sanded the entire thing at least seven times…insanity!  It looks very good!

I abandoned Chris yesterday to go racing with a new friend Andy aboard his Cape Dory 27, which is a lovely boat.  We didn’t win any trophies but in light air 5-8 knots initially and filling in maybe up to 10 she wasn’t in her most ideal conditions to run fast.  We had a lot of fun though and I got to see just how inefficient my foredeck work is…How did I end up there anyway?!?  I was supposed to be the halyard mast woman…in the pit per say…I learned a lot and have the muscle soreness to prove it.

Back to the boat today to finish up the painting of the nonskid on the deck and we will be rolling s/v Alchemy out of the shed real soon.
